Our mission is to empower a global volunteer movement ready to mobilise when our community needs us. All our programmes are about teaching, celebrating and empowering volunteers to improve the world they live in.

The Student Volunteer Army is designed to help mobilise students and their desire to contribute to their communities.

You can log service hours for many things, depending on how you give back to the community.Volunteering is any service provided for free, including:

  • Coaching and Umpiring
  • Working bees and ecological work
  • Music performances
  • Charity work
  • Food donations
  • Responding to natural disasters

Rangitoto Summit Diploma

SVA is a way for students to log volunteer hours beyond the requirements of the diploma. If you are interested in actively contributing to your community in an ongoing basis, SVA is the group for you. Students receive recognition and badges as they reach different milestones.

In order to have your activity added to your profile in time to be recognised at prizegiving, please ensure it is added by:

  • Year 9 and Year 10: 21 November 2025
  • Year 11: 19 November 2025
  • Year 12 and Year 13: 18 September 2025
