Tēnā koutou e te whānau whānui o Rangitoto,

Welcome to the first 2025 edition of Vista, Rangitoto College’s digital magazine that highlights life at the College. To the new readers of Vista, I trust that you will gain an excellent insight and appreciation into the many and varied activities that our students are able to get involved in. With multiple building projects, a record school roll, and the addition of a group of talented new staff, it has been an exciting start to the year.

With excellent scholarship and IB academic results from 2024 laying the foundation for the school year ahead, I am pleased that our decisions in the past few years are paying dividends by enabling our students to follow the dual academic pathways of NCEA and the International Baccalaureate with such success. Our bespoke Year 11 Diploma, that has replaced NCEA Level 1, has proven a wise choice, challenging our students to further develop the powerful knowledge that enables deeper understanding. We look forward to refining this curriculum over the course of 2025 while continuing to work on the classroom practice that brings the curriculum to life.

My thanks to the parents, alumni and staff who have come on board to help with our extensive extra curricular programmes this year. We are always on the lookout for further support and welcome any expressions of interest from our community via info@rangitoto.school.nz. We look forward to the 2025 academic year being an exceptional experience for our community, both within and beyond the classroom.
