Additionally, after taking out the gold in their events Zhan, Reid and Talaya made the NZSS team and classic tour.
On February 26th, the Millennium Track hosted a vibrant school athletics day, drawing in an impressive 270 students. The event was a testament to the enthusiasm and competitive spirit of the young participants. The track, known for its IAAF standard facilities, provided an ideal setting for students to showcase their skills in various events such as the 100m and 200m races, long jump, shot put. Parents and teachers were present to support and encourage the students, adding to the excitement of the day. The event concluded with prize-giving ceremonies, recognizing the achievements of the top performers. Overall, the school athletics day was a resounding success, highlighting the importance of sports in fostering a sense of community and achievement among students. The day concluded with a number of students qualifying for Auckland Champs in March.
