North Harbour Sports Council 2024

Throughout 2024 myself and three other Year 12 students (Alice Bell, Joe Leith, and Max Mudford) have attended termly meetings, representing Rangitoto College as members of the North Harbour School Sports Council. Addressing themes focused on leadership through sport, we interacted with multiple colleges from the North Harbour region as well as the He Toa Taua – Harbour Sport team developing insight and creating solutions to local sport-related issues. These included themes based on inclusivity in sport, sideline behaviour, and leadership within the sporting realm. As Year 12 students we are privileged to be able to further grow as leaders as well as pass on gained knowledge to our college’s sports culture and younger aspiring leaders. Overall this has been an amazing opportunity, building leadership qualities within ourselves, and others and consequently contributing to Rangitoto College’s sporting environment.
