Kalea has committed to a FULL four year scholarship at Michigan State University for 2025. MSU is a highly prestigious university. Its volleyball team competes in the Big Ten conference which is the most competitive conference in America. This is on the back of an outstanding year which few, if any, players in volleyball’s history, could match, both on the indoor court and on the beach.
In Rangitoto colours she has won national gold both for indoor (MVP) and Beach with partner Devyn Golaboski. Indoors Kalea was key to Rangitoto College having an unbeaten season winning Harbour (MVP), Auckland (MVP) and Nationals (MVP) titles. She also won gold in the Harbour open women’s team and was named in the tournament team. She is currently in China with the NZ Junior Women’s team. She also featured prominently when playing for NZ top women’s team, the Volley Ferns in Chile.
On the beach she has played for the New Zealand A Women’s beach volleyball squad, won bronze in the Mairangi open, played the NZ Women’s Pro Tour (gaining silver and bronze medals) and gained a top eight finish in the FIVB futures tournament in Mollymook. She won silver at NZ Beach IPC Under 19s and was also North Harbour Senior Girls Champion. To top it off she is in the 2024 NZ Paris Olympic Beach squad.
Kalea is a humble young lady who deserves all her success through hard work and commitment.
