BACK

Tēnā koutou e te whānau whānui o Rangitoto,

Term 2 has once again been a busy term, with a wide range of activities within and beyond academic classes offering students opportunities to excel in school life. Pride in performance has been a feature, with performing arts, sports and our wide range of clubs and activity groups having record student numbers participate.

The cultural commitment of our Chinese and Korean students was evident, culminating in the amazing cultural evenings that students have been rehearsing for since the start of the year. Students have been responsible for running these showcases that have once again attracted sell-out audiences. The recent Matariki hui and dawn gathering was another fine example of students passing on cultural knowledge to our community. My thanks to the Rangi Replay team for their Instagram posts that have been a great window into the diversity of student-led activity within the College.

Looking ahead to Term 3, students will need to balance their co-curricular and academic commitments as we head towards our week 8 Entrance Exams in Year 12 and 13 and NCEA Literacy and Numeracy co-requisite testing in Year 10. I wish you all the best over the upcoming break and hope you are all able to avoid (or recover) from the nasty virus that has been decimating classes recently.
