The North Shore Careers Expo is a two-day event that is held every year at the North Harbour Stadium, Albany.
The expo gives students the chance to meet with over 50 different organisations, including universities, tertiary training providers, employers, and industry representatives from around New Zealand. This provides a valuable opportunity for students who are in the early stages of career exploration to gather insider information, develop knowledge of possible career pathways, and have one-on-one conversations with the exhibitors. Students can also broaden their awareness and gain insights into other industries they may not have even been aware of.
The Year 12 Gateway and Year 13 Pathways to Employment students attended during school time with the career’s staff and teachers and all other senior students were encouraged to attend in the evenings with their whānau. As this is a combined North Shore secondary school event, in total there were over 1,400 students attending during the two days and around 1,800 students and families attending in the evenings. A great turn out for all.
