In an electrifying showcase of talent and passion, the National Dance Challenge 2024 has crowned its champions across various genres. Leading the charge, Magnum Troupe soared to victory, clinching 1st place in the fiercely competitive Jazz division, while Overture Ballet troupe captured hearts and the top spot in the Lyrical division. Not to be outdone, Magnum Company astounded judges with their dynamic Contemporary routines, securing another 1st place victory and earning the prestigious Musicality Special Troupe Award.
Rangitoto’s Hip Hop mega crew thrilled audiences with their energy, claiming 5th place in the Hip Hop division. Adding to the accolades, a special highlight recognized dance leaders Ryan Thorley, Hayley Stirling, Jessica Zhu, Jorja Boese, Melody Ullrich, Summer Hawkins, Ryleigh Hing, Greer McKenzie, Jiwoo Yeam, and Bella Iti for their outstanding effort and unwavering commitment.
Highlighting the event, was receiving a National Young Performer awards NDC nomination for Magnum Company, marking the first-ever nomination for Rangitoto College which is historically awarded to traditional dance studios. This honour includes a sponsored prize of $300.00, underscoring the group’s exceptional artistry and dedication.
National Dance Challenge 2024 was a testament to the dancers, leaders, choreographers and teachers’ hard work which is helping in setting new standards in performance excellence.
