We hosted our 6th Golf Day Fundraiser on Friday 5th April at Pupuke Golf Club and celebrated our biggest success to date as well as having the absolute pleasure of seeing one of our golfer’s win the grand Hole in One prize!
This year, our fundraising efforts were to upgrade our stage and lighting facilities in our Auditorium for our Performing Arts Department. 28 teams (112 golfers) gathered at the picturesque greens of Pupuke Golf Club on a sunny Autumn morning with roaring energy and competitive spirit. Our main sponsors, The Merchant and Co, Subway, Sals pizza, and Gilmours North Shore ensured our golfers were fed and refreshed throughout the day as well as our many hole sponsors who put on some challenges and fun activities to keep our golfers entertained and helped us raise further funds towards a good cause.
Shore Travel and Norwegian Cruise Lines sponsored hole number 9 which saw Roger Bridge of an Alumni Team (Class on Grass 87) win the Hole in One early in the tournament. Their screams of joy and disbelief could be heard on the other side of the course! Roger won a 7-night cruise for two in Hawaii and this was proudly presented by Mary Buckley of Shore Travel.
We raised $26,500 on the day from the generous support of our Golfers and our 53 sponsors which this big day on our calendar could not exist without. Rangi is extremely grateful for the continued and growing support of this event each year. Our 2025 Golf Day is already locked in for Friday 4th April so look out for more information later this year on how to register your team entry.
