BACK

Rangitoto College held their competitive school athletics on the 28th February at the Millennium Track.  Among the numerous participants, 51 of our students across all year levels qualified for the Harbour Zones.

Following the Harbour Zones, 12 of these students advanced to Auckland Champs on 26th March. These outstanding athletes brought home a total of 11 medals, comprising 5 Gold, 4 Silver, and 2 Bronze.

Special congratulations are due to the following students for their remarkable achievements:

  • Kenzie Bowden: 2024 Jennian Homes NZ Track and Field Championships – 3rd U16 Girls 100m, 1st U16 Girls 4x100m, 5th U16 Girls 200m. North Island Championships – 5th Intermediate Girls 100m, 5th Intermediate Girls 200m, 2nd Senior Girls 4x100m
  • Zhan Bowden: 2024 Jennian Homes NZ Track and Field Championships  – 1st U18 Mens Triple Jump, 4th U20 Mens Triple Jump, 3rd U18 Mens 4x100m.North Island Championships – 1st Senior Boys Triple Jump, 3rd Senior Boys Long Jump, 3rd Senior Boys 4x100m, 4th Senior Boys 4x400m
  • Nyla Spencer: 2024 Jennian Homes NZ Track and Field Championships – 2nd in U18 300mH (unfortunately dq after the race)  North Island Championships – 2nd Senior Girls 300mH, 5th Senior Girls 200m, 2nd Senior Girls 4x100m, 3rd Senior Girls 4x400m
  • Reid Davidson: 2024 Jennian Homes NZ Track and Field Championships – 3rd U20 Men’s Shot Put. North Island Championships – 1st Senior Boys Shot put, 2nd Senior Boys Hammer Throw
  • Layla Downey: North Island Championships – 2nd Junior Girls 4x100m
  • Mackenzie Guy: North Island Championships – 2nd Senior Girls 4x100m, 3rd Senior Girls 4x400m
