Rangitoto teams were national champions in boys volleyball, swimming and sailing and also podiumed in boys and girls water polo, girls’ volleyball and beach volleyball.

The school also had athletes selected in national teams in the following sports; swimming, cheerleading, volleyball, sailing, water polo and basketball, and individuals achieved national medals in athletics, swimming, judo, stand up paddling, skateboarding, badminton, diving and sailing.

At the regional level the following Rangitoto premier/senior teams were either Auckland or North Harbour Champions; Netball, Boys Basketball, Girls Badminton, Equestrian, Pentanque and Beach volleyball.

In 2022 there have already been a number of outstanding achievements. The most notable being National Secondary School gold medals for our premier boys and girls water polo teams and Auckland championship gold and silver medals for our girls and boys’ volleyball teams respectively.
