Rangitoto College aims to give every student the opportunity to excel.  As well as the National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA), the College offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma. This Diploma has the potential for the right candidate to teach a class within this program in these curriculum areas of Science, Mathematics, English, Languages, Geography, Economics and History (Social Sciences). Guidance Counsellor

Due to expansion of the department, Rangitoto College invites applications for a full time, permanent Guidance Counsellor to start as soon as possible.

We seek an innovative, professionally trained counsellor (teaching qualification preferred but not essential) who has a deep interest in the wellbeing of our youth, and is a current member of NZAC, or working towards full membership. The counselling department is collegial, organised and well-resourced, and is part of a high-performing school which aims to give every student the opportunity to excel.

 

  • Helping students to explore their difficulties and concerns, and to develop their capabilities and resilience
  • Fostering conditions in which a student can grow and develop as a person
  • Offering leadership and sharing expertise in promoting positive relationships
  • Promoting awareness of and respect for difference
  • Advocating for those who are disempowered
  • Providing psychoeducation to students to enhance wellbeing
  • Working with families individually and connecting them with support agencies in the community as necessary.

 

The applicant will be able to demonstrate in their practice a commitment to the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the bicultural foundations of Aotearoa New Zealand.

2025 Secondary School Teacher - expressions of interest

Curriculum Leader Textiles - T4 2024 or earlier by negotiation

Seeking for a proven Textiles Leadership or Aspiring Textiles Leader. Role commencing T4 2024 or earlier by negotiation.

 

We are a high-performing school that aims to provide every student the opportunity to excel. Rangitoto College is in search of an innovative future focused Textiles teacher to lead curriculum design and implementation. Our ambition is to enable our students to excel in the ever-evolving world of technological design and development.

We are looking for an educator who is committed to upholding the highest standards of teaching and learning. You will also have a collaborative teaching approach, demonstrate strong organisational skills and a commitment to improving outcomes for all students.

 

This is a full-time permanent role and carries 1 MU commencing week 1, term 4, 2024 or earlier by negotiation. Visits to the school are welcomed by prior arrangement.

The successful applicant should be someone with a genuine passion for emerging technologies. Our department is well-equipped with 3D printing, CNC routing, laser cutting, and extensive workshops and design studios to accommodate a broad spectrum of student projects. Experience in teaching food technology and/or technology scholarship is advantageous. Please detail any additional teaching subjects in your application.

The successful applicant will also:

  • Have a teaching diploma and be a registered teacher.
  • Have a good understanding of the NZ Curriculum and assessment practices.
  • Have a collaborative and constructive work style.

Trainee Teachers Applications for 2025

Rangitoto College, along with other select Auckland secondary schools, offers a remote post graduate degree with the University of Waikato. This programme will be delivered while you work onsite to transition you into your teaching career. By training onsite there’s the chance to be mentored by experts in your subject-area specialisation as you train. This immersion track takes one year and gives you industry experience in a top secondary school for the whole year of training. Day Relief Teacher 2024

We aim to give every student the opportunity to excel. As well as the National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA), the College offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma.

Please state your available days and any subjects you prefer not to teach and if you are open to more long-term relief cover role that come up from time to time. You will receive a confirmation of a completed application and we will contact you to confirm you have been placed on our relieving register and contacted by our Teacher in Charge of relief when required.
