Science Technician Assistants help organise and maintain the wide range of resources available to teachers and used by hundreds of students.
Science Technician Assistants help refill bottles of chemical solutions, wash glassware, do stock takes and distribute workbooks to labs. They are taught a variety of repairing skills, all of which enable the department to be well stocked for experiments and enable operations to run smoothly.
Their time and effort is invaluable and as they help, the students may become familiar with the ‘behind the scene processes’ and learn interesting facts about science.
For Year 9 and Year 10 students to have this activity added to their student profile they will need to take part in 3 sessions of half an hour each (1.5 hours volunteering in total).
