Rangitoto College has been involved in the Theatresports Youth Programme New Zealand since its inception. This programme creates opportunities for students to participate in performance theatre with the emphasis expanded from straight competition to highlight the importance of story-telling, characterisation, and teamwork.
Theatresports at Rangitoto comprises several teams who meet once a week at lunchtime and once a week after school. They frequently host inter-school workshops and competitions, and Rangitoto teams often travel to other schools to hone their improvising skills.
