The annual Rangitoto College Blood Drive is an amazing cause which unites students and staff in making a lifesaving impact by contributing desperately needed blood for use in New Zealand hospitals.

This year, over 200 students and teachers signed up for the blood drive and 150 units of blood were donated in total over two days! Ninety-five of them were first-time donors, which is awesome since these people will likely end up as lifelong donors. Together, schools play a vital role in ensuring a stable blood supply and creating a brighter future for those in need—especially with New Zealand’s current blood shortage.

A huge thank you to Teachers in Charge, Emma McDonald and Karen Neale, the Community and Environment and Service and Spirit Teams, and the NZ Blood Service for making the blood drive a success this year.
